Local Programs
Conservation Legacy operates and supports locally and regionally based conservation service corps across the country. In addition to these corps, Conservation Legacy manages unique program models, such as the Ancestral Lands programs, the Corps River Restoration programming and the Veterans Fire Corps.
Ancestral Lands

The Ancestral Lands Model is rooted in the culture and heritage of local tribal communities. The power and impact of Ancestral Lands programming is due to the community investment and support for each program tribally and locally, combined with a network of operational support from Conservation Legacy. Ancestral Lands programs consist of conservation crews and individual placements.

Appalachian Conservation Corps

The Appalachian Conservation Corps (ACC) moves forward from the tradition of the Civilian Conservation Corps to engage young people in conservation service projects. ACC operates conservation service programs based in Harrisonburg, VA.

Arizona Conservation Corps
Flagstaff • Tucson
Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC) provides young adults with challenging service and educational opportunities based in the White Mountains, Flagstaff and Tucson, AZ. AZCC operates a continuum of programs from community-based initiatives for younger teens to residential camping crews for high school and college aged individuals along with leadership programs for college graduates and job training programs specifically for veterans.

Conservation Corps New Mexico (CCNM) operates conservation service programs across southern New Mexico and western Texas that engage individuals and strengthen communities through service and conservation. CCNM’s operations are based out of Las Cruces, NM, in order to best serve local communities, young people and landscapes in this region.

Conservation Corps North Carolina (CCNC), our newest program, partners with Conservation Trust for North Carolina, Appalachian Conservation Corps, and public land managers in North Carolina. CCNC engages motivated young adults to complete challenging and impactful conservation service projects throughout the region.

Southeast Conservation Corps (SECC) operates conservation service programs throughout the Southeast that focus on empowering young people to cultivate compassion, responsibility and grit through community service, hard work and environmental stewardship. SECC is focused on connecting local youth to the natural environment through service learning, personal development and recreation.

Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC) operates conservation service programs across Southern Colorado with offices in Durango and Salida, CO. SCC has broad program offerings including individual placements in natural resource positions as well as crew-based conservation service programs for youth, young adults, and Veterans.

Stewards Individual Placements
Nationwide
Stewards Individual Placement Program (SIPP) places AmeriCorps and VISTA Members in communities across America for a year of volunteer service by facilitating partnerships between federal agencies and community-based nonprofit groups. Unified in mission, each participant serves on a specific team distinguished by its unique focus and relevant federal agency partner affiliation.
