Conservation Legacy Welcomes Three New Board Members
Durango, CO – October 28, 2024 | Conservation Legacy, a leader in the conservation corps industry, is excited to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Chris Bicknell, Dale Threatt-Taylor, and Koby Langley. Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will further enhance the organization’s commitment to engaging young people in conservation service on lands and in communities nationwide.
Chris Bicknell has over 20 years of experience serving and working with non-profits. He cofounded Little Green Light, a company focused on providing a donor management system to nonprofits, and this company has grown to serve nearly 10,000 nonprofits around the US. He has experience managing a national team of major gift, planned gift, and foundation relations officers with the Student Conservation Association and has supported fundraising efforts with other organizations. His leadership roles and prior experience with fundraising and conservation corps have equipped him with unique insights that will be invaluable to our mission.
Dale Threatt-Taylor is the Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy South Carolina Chapter. Her work has focused on leading successful projects in land protection, implementing coastal nature-based solutions, healthy forest management with prescribed fire, freshwater, and restoration policy, climate mitigation, and sustainability partnerships. North Carolina’s Governor Roy Cooper awarded Dale The Order of the Long Leaf Pine to Dale and she has also received The Hugh Hammond Bennett Award, the Soil and Water Conservation Society’s most prestigious award, in recognition of her accomplishments. She will bring expertise and value to our impact across the nation.
Koby Langley is the Division Vice President for the Northeast Division of the American Red Cross and has also served as the Senior Vice President of the International Services and Service to Armed Forces departments. Before joining the American Red Cross, Koby served as the Director of Wounded Warrior, Veteran and Military Family Engagement at the White House and the Senior Advisor for Wounded Warrior, Veteran and Military Family Initiatives for AmeriCorps Prior to these roles, Koby served as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary and Senior Advisor for the Office of Wounded Warrior Care and Transition Policy. Langley is a Harvard Law School certified federal mediator, a two-tour combat Veteran, and Bronze Star recipient for meritorious service. Koby’s dedication to service and country will support our ongoing commitment to communities and fostering civic engagement.

The new board members were officially welcomed at the Conservation Legacy board meeting on October 24th, where they actively contributed to strategic planning, governance, and community engagement efforts.
